It’s been awhile....

Let’s see where do I start! In the beginning of March the Houston rodeo closed down because of the coronavirus! It’s like we’re living in the twilight zone. People are masked everywhere they go and living in fear. It’s a time of uncertainty and I hate the vibe you feel when you go out. It’s pretty scary working in a funeral home during this time with all the crazy headlines and not knowing how contagious it is or the affects on pregnant women and unborn children. I mean the funeral home is the last place you want to be during a pandemic with people dying. I also hate not being able to tell in public if people are smiling behind their masks. Just living my best life in “quarantine” ya know until I go back to being an essential worker Monday morning! It’s good for me to relax since I have the tendency to over do things and I work a stressful full time job and it is emotionally challenging as well. Especially during this time of uncertainty. But it sometimes feels a little unfair because I want to be out shopping and getting things for this little blessing! For now I will just enjoy her baby kicks on this rainy day

But we still have plenty to smile about!
Nesting on the next level!! My big ole pregnant butt painted both of our bathrooms after my busy workweek…

23 weeks 🌼 I used to sleep in this little t shirt dress now it fits my bump perfectly! & it beats having to wear slacks to the funeral home all week I’m tired of pants lol

Shopping for nursery fabrics!!! We took her bumper to coordinate colors…it reminds me of Reese Witherspoon! Southern belle coming right up.

This is what we picked for curtains :

25 weeks 🍀
Happy st pattys day! Pinch me, I forgot to wear green lol I’m glad I’m good at picking things up with my toes because if I drop something it comes in handy

Our baby shower invitations went out:

Annnnnnd Our baby shower was cancelled in April due to the virus womp womp!! so my sister in law put this together for me and I thought it was very tastefully said.

I plan to make a baby shower post soon with pics since we did get to have a “quarantine baby shower” lol it turned out so sweet special and intimate! &her homecoming outfit came in that my mom bought. So stinking precious. As y’all know from reading this blog while praying for children I prayed for “roses and tulips” because my parents called my right foot roses and my left foot tulips when I was little. So of course I picked a tiny rose bud outfit for her to come home in! It’s from kissy kissy and it’s so yummy feeling. I’m having a special bow made for the hat but I had to try it out with a bow I had.

Some of the not so fun stuff!
When I was 27 weeks along I failed both glucose tests, wompppp womppp!! But what seemed like a huge deal quickly became normal. I had to give up my beloved Dr Pepper and pretty much all carbs and sugar. But I became adapted to diet Dr Pepper (TX girls gotta do what a TX girls gotta do!) I went through weeks of taking my blood sugar four times a day and learning what to eat six times a day. I got tired of food because I felt like I spent majority of my time in the kitchen. But I did really good I lost 5 pounds and my numbers were great so the diabetic dr let me go to every other day, and then every three days
27 weeks:
My last nondiabetic meal lol

Hellllooo 3rd trimester!
28 weeks and my first day testing my blood sugar.

It’s been really hard trying to eat my snacks and meals and test my blood sugar at work. I am the office manager I am always CRAZY busy you know managing an office! But now I’m responsible for managing my body and taking care of this high maintenance princess! That is the most important thing to me! & let me add I’m not as quick as I used to be with Carolina bumping along with me lol

I just try to focus on the most important thing- We are getting a BABY! & I’m counting down the days til I can be home with her. We set up her area in our bedroom for her….

29 weeks:
HAPPY EASTER!

only 15 days until we get to celebrate Carolina June’s upcoming arrival! It may not be the same as a big shower with all of our family and friends but we’ve been blessed and are so excited for the packages showing up and can’t wait to unwrap them and get her stuff ready! This is exactly how God intended it to be.

oh and I quit my dreadful job!!! Such a relief to be done with that place! It was looking like they were going to jerk me around with my time off for maternity leave because my last manager (who got fired because I reported her by the way) entered my time wrong in the system where I wasn’t eligible for the benefits I’m entitled to. Uhhh we can go back and fix that and prove she was wrong?! But no they just said it couldn’t be helped. So based on that it no longer made sense for me to keep working such a stressful job! Peace out y’all.   Getting “baby shower” ready! Just because it’s corona style doesn’t mean it can’t be cute lol I made this little sign with her name on it

30 weeks
Princess baby takes up so much room! I have a small frame and am pretty much ALL belly! She doesn’t have a lot of space to go and it feels like she is trying to stretch out in her tight little apartment.

She goes crazy in there late at night and early in the morning. Y’all know Monica from the show friends?  Crazy ocd neat freak and a bit anal? Well that’s me so someone better tell her my womb is like Monica’s apartment there’s a place for everything and she’s not in her place! Distorted belly….the first time Dane felt her move like not kick but a BIG roll like her elbow across my belly he said “EW NO!” And ripped his hand away hahahaha our little alien freaked him out.
She loves my right side. I spend lots of time in bed at night and in the morning trying to capture videos of her moving all crazy but I swear she knows when I get the camera out!

Feeling: tired! I don’t sleep through the night anymore I always get up to pee and I have horrible carpal tunnel in my hands which I didn’t know was a pregnancy symptom apparently it’s rare but lucky me got it! It hurts soooo bad and only happens at night but when I get up to potty it’s like my hands don’t work. It lasts mid way to the morning and finally goes away.
