9 months of loving Carolina June

 March 18th was Carolina June’s 9 month birthday. She’s changed so much and I’m not sure when it happened. Thick dark hair, 4 beautiful teeth. She can crawl and pull up on things. She weighs about 25 pounds. Says mama all the time. Still a lover and frequent customer of the Dairy Queen. She’s very funny and vocal and keeps us entertained. She’s also smart and is making lots of connections. A lot of the time when I put her to sleep we nurse belly to belly with her sitting up and I love that she plays with her toes while she’s falling asleep. She’s not sleeping as good as she used to and I’m working on a routine but trying to stay relaxed about it, we’ll sleep one day and I’ll miss these days all too soon. She loves taking baths or showers with me but flips out when we get out and have to get dressed. She plays and keeps herself super busy. She’s my little destructive bambam baby lol 

Rough patch

I downloaded this app that is supposed to predict “leaps” that babies go through and how it makes them fussy...well Carolina hasn’t been herself for quite some time and our routine was interrupted by Dane going on a few out of town jobs. I have friends who used it and honestly I thought it was overrated and that I didn’t need an app to know my baby was going through something. But she ain’t my baby right now!! Lol she’s normally so easy. I entered her dd and it sure did place her in a leap. 🙈 with seven days left! Oh my gosh. And let me tell you it was spot on. This post is behind because we’ve just been surviving not thriving lol so here’s some highlights of our week 

This honestly says it all. But we did have some good times too. But this was the worst night of my life...I got Carolina to sleep for the night and she had only been asleep for 20 minutes. I had a bad tummy ache all day and needed to go to the bathroom. So I got up out of nanas bed (we were staying over there) and went to the bathroom. After a few minutes I heard a thump but I didn’t think much because everyone was still awake and they have a dog and it’s just not abnormal for there to be some type of noise going on. Well then I heard loud crying but it wasn’t my child and it sounded different I thought it was my moms tv because she keeps it extremely loud. Welllll it perked my ears and I kept hearing it so I rushed out to find nana holding Carolina June and I already knew what had happened. But I didn’t believe it until nana said 

“She fell off the bed, honey” OMG I panicked I grabbed her and I just kept screaming “oh my god no, oh my god no” and my mom came in to see what happened and I just sobbed “she fell off the bed omg she fell off the bed” my mom tried taking her because I was so upset but I just grabbed her back and cried with her I sat on the floor in front of nanas fan because I couldn’t breathe and just cried holding her and told her how sorry I was. She didn’t want to nurse she just screamed. I finally stopped crying got her to nurse but Dane was gone and not answering the phone and it was around 8 PM I didn’t know if she hit her head I didn’t know what to do. I ended up riding to the emergency room with my mom but because stupid covid my mom couldn’t come in and I needed my mom just like Carolina needed me! They said it wouldn’t take long to get us back so I stood and waited. They kept asking me to sit down UHM there’s sick people everywhere!!! I don’t want to sit down so you can forget about us in the corner. Then this I’m sorry but ghetto tatted up mom starts screaming at the staff about how they’ve been “waiting up in here for 3 hours” uhhhh hold on...so I ask and the guy says “welllll technically she’s been here like 2 hours and 20 minutes” omg so he said a bunch of people checked in right before us and he didn’t know. I got overwhelmed watching them wheel sick people out with oxygen tanks. I got the feeling to go outside and call my cousin who lives in another state and could do literally nothing to help me. I have to believe God put that thought in my head when my mind was racing with a million other thoughts wondering if Carolina June was okay. She prayed with us and asked God to give me peace and to make a quick decision and it just confirmed my heart telling me to take my baby home. She was responsive eating tracking things and playing. During her prayer i kept remembering something God told me when I was pregnant with her - “this child is mine to keep” surely a freak accident like her falling off the bed wouldn’t take her from me! So we went home....I saw her poor little face when we got there. 

One sweet thing about this day, I carried Carolina June for 38 weeks and 3 days and that is how old she is today 💗

Nana and papa came over and brought fried chicken! We ate outside because it was very pretty and she was swingin...she loved the mashed potatoes!

Friday we went and picked up Danes paycheck and had some plans that got interrupted because Dane had to go take a class for work. We dropped him off and went to nanas and helped her prep to get her new furniture and then picked him up. Baby girl fell asleep in the car 

Friday night we headed to Saratoga Texas to spend the night with the Gilpin’s but not before BamBam flipped over her toy!

We got there at nine and Carolina June and stayed up until 10 something before she went to sleep but missy jo was already in bed. The chicken and biscuit were very excited to see each other Saturday morning they clearly love each other 😂

We went to eat breakfast at a local cafe and it was amazing! The girls were so good and missy ate everything that wasn’t nailed to the floor

We went to trade days in liberty and it was fun except for her 30 minute nap of the day! At the end I had to get her out of her stroller and find a place to feed her and carry her around while she slept the last hour. 

We met back up with the guys for dinner  they had gone to the mud park 

Carolina June loves raygen and I was grateful to have her in the backseat taking care of my baby. Raygen is the best kid and takes such good care of everyone she loves

Time is running together because Dane has been working weekends and I am lacking sleep so I never know what day it is! Carolina June is for certain getting front teeth! She started last week for sure on March 4th bc it was my brother bday and I almost rubbed some birthday whiskey on her gums for uncle bubba in NY lol she was very unhappy. But man that top left one is in and sharp! But she has still been so bothered so she must be trying to cut the one next to it too. 

Pretty girl on Saturday! Nana was surprised to see us since it was the weekend but like I said Dane has been working so we went for a visit to get out of our forsaken house that she’s been teething in lol we are both over it! 

We had a nice visit and waited for my mom to get home so she could see her MawMaw!  but man when we got home just nothing was right! She’s had a runny nose and fever and bad diapers- these teeth need to hurry up! It’s spring and we have fun things we should be doing 

All the teething toys and none are right. I’ve even given her Danes western belt to chew on! And I’ve wrestled this girl to give her Advil and she is like a rolling crocodile I swear! She eventually went to sleep. Sunday morning she woke up about 9:30 after a restless night and she was ready for nap by 10:15. 

Naps in her bed are a win! I love her so much but it’s been rough with teeth and Dane being gone and I’m a better mom when I can get things done or have me time while she’s sleeping. She loves getting in tight corners

 Shortly after this we had meltdowns galore so I thought we should get out of the house for a walk

Worked like a charm! I was exhausted and my mom is off on sundays so she brought me a chicken finger basket from Dairy Queen and Carolina June ate some Texas toast and gravy with MawMaw...she looks like a baby who needs gravy lol but she had fun eating DQ with MawMaw instead of mommy for once haha 

“I see that box MawMaw and I think I’ll just stand up and grab it!”

On the move! Ok bedtimes have been crazy this week. She literally will be asleep like I’ll nurse her 3-4 times til she falls asleep then all of a sudden she sits straight up in bed and starts gabbing! WHAT?! You were just asleep?! Who hit your on switch because I need it in the off position. I mean she would faceplant the mattress and be completely still for 2-3 minutes like she was sleeping then sit up again! I thought it was a little funny because she kept abusing Dane instead of me for once lol this is how she finally fell asleep, her face down in Danes back booty up! Lol 

Monday we ran a couple errands she was good the whole time and lost her mind on the way home like when I pulled over and jumped in the back with her her eyes were purple and she looked like she had hives and was gagging! But she looked pretty and this is the only time she will wear this 9 month outfit lol 

We played outside Tuesday so I could paint some stuff! Such a pretty day

Dane was off Wednesday so we filed our taxes and went to eat some yummy Mexican food 

She took a very long nap! She slept in her bed woke up very upset as I was falling asleep on the couch...Dane brought her to me and she fell asleep nursing and then woke up and laid on top of me and fell asleep again! 

All her toys and she wants to play with this ribbon! 

Didn't think I needed an app to understand what my baby is going through (& I don't, obviously I knew something was up) but I have to say this gave me peace of mind after an exhausting night! It didn't ask me any questions other than my due date and it sure did put her in a leap! It predicts 7 days left 😅

She woke up all night Wednesday night sobbing and screaming “mommmaa” I nursed her three times she fell asleep sitting up with me patting her back once and she fell asleep with me holding her twice. I didn’t know if she was having night terrors or what but it was so sad. She woke up just before 7:30 and was in bed again for a nap at 8:30! Thankfully she took her naps like normal and we had a girls day with MawMaw 

Carolina was adorable as usual and in such a good mood and friendly! She smiled at all the strangers and even reached out to hold our waitresses hand lol that was her friend when we left. We tried a local family owned Italian restaurant and omg it was good! Carolina enjoyed some:

I feel like this post got really long! Carolina June is currently crawling away so I’ll end it with a super cute st party day cutie 💗 we spent the day shopping with nana nutmeg 

And I decorated our mantle for Easter! I painted the candle sticks pink from our wedding and painted the eggs they were plastic from the dollar store, and I made the banner out of leftover material from quilts I’ve made
