Little buddy

First set of vaccines about 2 1/2 months old 

This rolly polly weighs 15 lb even and is 24 in long 

The back rolls kill me he looks like a wrinkly puppy 

Little guy did SO WELL. Sister cried harder for his shots than he did 😆☺️ He was sore all night and fussy but never ran fever and the next day slept all day and was good as new! Carolina was sick for 3 days when she got her first set. Crazy how different each baby is. 

Beau rolled over twice in his sleep around 4 AM on August 30 2022 ❤️ I put him back on his back and I guess this is how he felt about it! 11 days shy of 3 months old.

I love love LOVE mommy’s milk 

I weigh 13lb 8oz 

I wear size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes 

I break my neck to look at sissy 

I love to be swaddled like a pig in a blanket 

I love swing naps 

I started smiling this month 

I hate to be patient because I don’t know what that means! I just want to be held and loved on all the time! 

We love having this little boy in the house 💙

 

The small moments are actually the big ones

 As a mom I know the moments I never want to forget are the ones that nobody else sees. They aren’t big moments they are relatively small…the way Carolina’s tiny feet stampede the floor as she runs to her daddy giggling with arms up SO excited for him to kneel down and pick her up. When we dance together in the kitchen. I look forward to every one of Beaus tiny sneezes because after each one he exclaims a joyful “oooohhhh” with a gummy baby grin. My favorite place to worship is the kitchen. I love to blare music while I’m cooking. Today as I was swaying my little baby and singing to God I realized it was one of those “small” moments I was talking about and instead of moving on with what I was doing and letting that memory fleet away I decided to take a minute and snap a photo.

Covid

 Wooommmmpppppppp womp! Tell me how we make it through the thick of the pandemic in 2020 bring home a new baby and go 2 years without getting covid but then in 2022 while I have a 5-6 week old baby Carolina June comes down with covid?! Also tell me how she even got it because we’ve been fairly locked down with a newborn! We’ve been home and at pams house and nobody in our circle tested positive or had symptoms! I don’t get it. It was VERY emotional. She was tired Monday night and woke up with fever Tuesday morning. I could tell by the sound of her cry through the monitor she didn’t feel good before I ever walked in and got her. Low grade temp 100.4-100.7 but she felt bad and got really still so i gave her Motrin and called the pedi. Had to wait forever when we got there thankfully pam rode along and kept beau in the truck because the appt was long and traumatizing. I was crying in the waiting room over how miserable she was I couldn’t soothe her. Then they made me weigh her uhhhh we were here like 2 weeks ago I’ve been waiting for 30 minutes with a crying child seriously 😒 but we got back and they said covid RSV and hand foot mouth is going around. They looked in her mouth with tongue depressor which gagged her to the point of throwing up. Tested BOTH nostrils once for rsv and once for covid. Taped a little bag to her inside her diaper to try and get a urine sample. I tried giving her Tylenol and she spit it all out. She is so strong even the Dr commented on how impressed she was with her strength and how smart she was to bite tongue depressor. She went downhill fast she went from this:

I called Dane Michael and let him know she was covid positive. I don’t know a lot of dads that would drop what they’re doing at work and race home to help the way Dane Michael did when I told him our baby had covid. I also don’t know a lot of dads that would step into the caregiving role as gracefully as he has. He really is an EXCELLENT daddy and I’m so proud of him 💙 he went from working a full time job to being Mr. Mom which is just a different full time job lol! He has done it without EVER asking for help and I’m just really blessed to have this man, my best buddy, for my babies daddy! 

(Because of Beau being less than 6 weeks old when she was diagnosed the pediatrician was really concerned about him and wanted me and him to nest together and nurse as much as possible so he could get all those covid antibodies from me being exposed. I am still negative and Beau is showing no symptoms so please keep the prayers coming!)

It was emotionally miserable being away from my baby and not being the one to take care of her but I knew she was in the best hands with her daddy. I’ve never been so happy to see such a dirty face

Busting out of quarantine the day Dane went back to work! I said let’s ease into this Carolina lol I was still a little worried about beau since it hadn’t been 10 days and she was like “watch this” and pulled of my mask lol so we dove in 

We tried our best to quarantine but when you’re the mom you still get up and clean the messes wash the clothes and do the dishes! And every once in awhile she would catch me when I had snuck out of our bedroom and I couldn’t deny my sick little child a hug from mommy when she put her arms up for me 

So far Dane and I have tested negative and beau has stayed well
