Bye bye daddy, have a good day at work! 

She’s been doing amazing at taking naps in her crib! 

Play time! 

She’s so funny she loves the sound of her feet kicking the floor. We went krogering for a few things and came home she took another nice nap in her bed and when she woke up we went outside for her first time to play in the grass! Getting our vitamin D after a freezing cold week. 

Her feet were all dirty from digging her heels in the ground haha soo we went for a sink bath! And let me just say, her legs were warm her arms hands face ears all of her was warm...when I took her diaper off to put her in the sink her bottom was so cold!!! There must be ice under the ground still or something weird lol 

She was not in the mood for her late nap so I let her stay up...well she missed the 4 and 7 o clock nap and I got her to sleep three times at bedtime before she finally gave it up! She was so dang tired! Halfway through then night Dane brought her to me and she was freezing!! I got her all cozy and we snuggled back to sleep. She was in such a good mood the next morning

Bam bam says good morning toy, I’ve missed you! 

Bam bam continued to play real hard....

And then she had a little blowout and then she took her nap like a big girl 

When she woke up I thought it would be funny to see if she could stand and hold the crib rail for a picture to send Dane......you’ll see where that was a bad idea in a few minutes! 

MawMaw and uncle pawpaw came over for a roast I made...nana didn’t feel good still! We thought it was allergies then we thought me and Carolina had a cold and not allergies and gave it to nana then nana thought it was her covid vaccine but now I think it’s allergies again because in the time nana has been sick I’ve gotten completely well and then gone back to feeling bad again! But who knows. So anyways she wasn’t there and we missed her! But little Carolina June’s baby booty crack kept sticking out and uncle pawpaw who’s been a licensed plumber his whole life kept asking her why she wasn’t out there fixin everyone’s frozen pipes with that plumbers crack! 

After they left I was doing the dog routine since Dane wasn’t here and Carolina wasn’t into nap or playing or tv so I finally just set her down in her bed with toys. She was content. Paisley kept walking by and it was making Carolina so mad because she is obsessed with puppy dogs! She wanted to get her. So paisley went and laid on Carolina June’s floor. Next thing I know this happened before my very eyes!

And she’s up! From a sit to her knees! 

I shouldn’t have taught her how to pull up!! I could not believe that she 

1) was strong enough to pull herself up 

2) smart enough to make the connection if she did that she could see the dog better

So obviously after all that work I got her out of her crib and made paisley come lay by her and be pet lol

And the rest of the night she pretty much acted like a wild animal until she fell asleep about 10 PM 

Wednesday morning 💗

She played and watched Mickey Mouse clubhouse but was ready for her morning nap pretty quickly!

I got her all pretty to go see nana nutmeg! Uncle pawpaw text that he made breakfast tacos so that automatically made it better than our house! 

My little Pooh bear took a nap and then we got ready to go out to eat for nanas belated bday at pappactios

She enjoyed lots of yummy food! Queso, rice, carrots, grilled onions and some beef fajita. & she loves drinking water. 

We didn’t get to my moms until almost 10 PM so we decided to just spend the night! I figured she would go right to sleep she stayed up fighting until like 11PM!!! MawMaw made us breakfast and we spend the day over there just playing and hanging out. During Carolinas afternoon nap me and mom played cards and when Carolina woke up I had to get her in on the family tradition! 

Fri-yay ❤️ We went to hobby lobby and decided to spend the night at nanas again since dada isn’t home. 

She is the cutest!!!!! And also mischievous haha she is obsessed with this table and this is her face when I tell her no no 

This girl stayed up past 10 again she is all off schedule. I mean I don’t run a tight schedule because honestly I like the flexibility and I never wanted to be a mom that her whole world revolves around a hitler schedule (nothing wrong with that just not my style) but she’s definitely got a wild hair this week and is off schedule even for us lol 

MawMaw decided her dress could double as a bonnet lol 

Saturday this little ham went to hobby lobby with me and nana and we found some cute fabric and ribbon to make stuff for her first birthday that is coming up sooner than I want to talk about. She is nursing as I type this and I feel like I should be memorizing the hairs on her head. Time is going by way too fast and I feel like I do spend a lot of time with her and teach her things and she’s so smart and she sleeps with me I mean...we’re together 24/7 lol it’s easy to let the days go by and occupy ourselves by binge watching “this is us” or putting on Winnie the Pooh or baby Einstein while I scroll Pinterest or shop online or more often do housework that seems never ending around here. In the moment I feel fine like I’m just doing what I can to survive the day and still have my sanity...but then the day is almost over and I wonder if I did enough. Did I talk to her? did I play with her? did I teach her something new? Because now she’s another day older and the time is slipping away faster than I can hang on to it. Sometimes I think technology is great like being able to document her milestones on here and it not get lost in a baby book or flood or something and other times I think it’s the worst thing ever invented and just takes time away from what truly matters. Excuse me while I go memorize Carolina June’s eyelashes and perfect button nose...her dark messy hair. Her rubber band wrists. All of her chins that block the view of her rarely seen neck. Her sweet chubby feet and dirty toenails at the moment lol We spent the night with nana again but she didn’t sleep well...again! So Sunday morning we hung out with MawMaw for a while but we were all tired so I came home and got the baby to sleep but I couldn’t get myself to sleep...I am very high strung. But she took two good naps we went krogering so I could get my beloved coffee creamer I’ve been out of! 

And Danes mom brought me a steak Karl made! Yay for steak- my favorite! This little girl is still being crazy it’s almost 10 as I type....maybe she’ll get back on schedule next week! 

8 months of loving Carolina June

 

Thursday February 18th was Carolinas 8 month birthday! 

Carolina June is EIGHT months old! Weighing about 23.9 pounds..she is still nursing. She has two teeth. She has sat up by herself one time. She rocks on her knees like crazy. She says mama and dada. She has waved bye bye a couple times. She’s a smiley little thing but it takes a lot to make her laugh she isn’t easily amused. She still sleeps with us but she has been taking naps in her crib and slept half a night in there, we are very proud of her and love her beyond words.

TX snow day!

 Sunday night I was scanning a document and Carolina was laying on the floor behind me. I turned around and she was sitting up. I didn’t think anything of it because it’s not odd to see her sitting we sit her up all the time. But then I realized she sat herself up for the very first time when I wasn’t looking! 

Ugh she’s grown so much her seventh month. Hard to believe just a few days until she’s 8 months old. Sunday night temps dropped and we were expected to get sleet and snow. It said it was supposed to be snowing at 8pm so I wanted to take the baby out and see so I got her all bundled...but no snow yet! 

Goodnight, little Valentine! Cupid is bringing you snow for your first Valentine’s Day 

We went to bed and at 2 AM we had power outage and Dane got up to turn on generator! There was some snow but I opted to stay in bed with Carolina because she was sound asleep. The kid in my heart wanted to get up so bad though. At 6 she woke up wanting to nurse and I said nope mommy wants to see snow! Haha so we got up she doesn’t know it yet but this is a rare specialty in Texas I’ve seen snow four times in my life including this time! 

We went back to sleep it was too cold and Carolina was NOT ready to be awake! But there was snow hanging around all day so we got some more pics of course 

Pooh bear was cold too so we gave him a hat, sill old bear. 

Such a memorable experience for us 💗❄️ Kinley next door came over and Carolina loves her 

Mama and daddy went out to enjoy it before it all melted, we left the baby inside for this one it’s just too cold

When we woke up Tuesday power was back on but we didn’t have water so we went to hang out at Danes moms for a little bit. We still had a lot of snow stuck to the ground though that’s a record for Texas it’s normally gone within a couple hours.

Wednesday my nana and aunt chylon and my mama came over to get away from the cold and nana spent the night with us because it was 40 degrees in her house and they didn’t have water! So Dane took the blow up in the living room and nana slept with me and Carolina June! Thursday was Carolina June’s 8 month bday and nanas 80th birthday!

Nana took a nice bubble bath with a glass of iced coffee and I gave her my big terry cloth robe and some flannel pjs to put on! She says she slept good, Carolina did her normal wake up routine so I know nana heard her a few times. Thursday was a whirlwind of a day! My cousin Brittni said on and off she was gonna come her I was trying to be host to my nana and my aunt and take care of Dane and Carolina the neighbor came and left Danes brother came and left...nana had to go get her second Covid vaccine..I’ve gotten VERY ocd so I was trying to keep everything as clean as possible while people were here. My cousin did end up coming with my two little cousins....well around five my nana and aunt went home and told my mom about their day and my mom started crying which never happens. Somehow none of us called her and told her to come over and she was waiting all day. I wish she had called and I wish one of us had called but we can’t get the day back. All we can do is move forward ask for forgiveness and ask god to heal our broken hearts because I assure you, my moms hurting and we were all devastated about it too. We are going to celebrate nanas birthday again. So to try and cheer my mom up we went over for Mexican food on uncle brads dime so she could see Carolina June. I didn’t sleep good at all I felt horrible about my mom and knew I wanted to do something to show her how much we love her and how sorry we are so Friday morning I ordered a salted caramel Bundt cake in the “nothing Bundt drama” theme (fitting for an apology cake haha) and I picked up aunt chylon and me her and the baby picked up the cake and surprised my mom at work with it! She was excited. A cake will never make what happened better but it sure can help.

Just a girl and her MawMaw dog 

We went back over to hang out with nana and them for a little while and then I got Carolina June to sleep in her crib for a nap! Brittni got her to take two naps in her crib Thursday by placing her hand over her ear and gently pressing her head down and patting her back/bottom.

 So she took a nap for me by doing that! I was so proud of her. I cleaned up quite a bit while she was sleeping. Then when Dane got home we ate dinner and went to my moms for leftover cake and to bring home my coffee creamer I forgot! We played a game of nertz while I was there and oh my gosh me and my aunt screamed “NNNEERRRTTZZ” at the same time and I’ve never seen my child so terrified! She cried big time! But she nursed and had a dance party with mommy and was much better. We came home kinda late but she was in her CRIB asleep at 10, and I didn’t even hear her wake up Dane got her at some point in the night and brought her to bed but he doesn’t remember what time. All we could see was her baby booty on the monitor! So Saturday morning before you shopping for birthday fabric she took a nap I tried to get her in her crib but she woke up and wouldn’t go back down so I left her to play so she can get used to her bed. 

 She gave each of her 100 acre woods friends a little attention. 

Then we went shopping in our matching sunnies for fabric with aunt chylon and nana for her 1st bday dress! I want it to be pale yellow lavender and white lace trim...but lavender has been so hard to find so we may add aqua or robins egg blue to the mix! We found an adorable bumble bee honey hive fabric but like I said no lavender! But we did get fabric to make 3 other dresses! Adorable country quilt with coordinating fabrics, black and white and lime green chicken / chicken wire fabric and colorful socks on a line with aqua gingham fabric! I’m gonna have to make her some adorable bows to coordinate. I’m thinking she’s gonna need some rain boots to wear too because there’s nothing cuter than a little rag muffin baby in rain boots! 

Sunday we went for a walk and I am obsessed with her beautiful dark brown hair!
