Baby’s first hurricane evacuation! It was awful. I will never leave without Dane again! He sent me to a motel with his parents the baby and paisley, Duke stayed home with him. Maybe I’m spoiled (not likely) but it didn’t feel clean enough for my two month old! There wasn’t a good place to bathe her and there was no fridge to put my milk in I called Dane bawling my eyes out! I just want to turn around and go home. I switched room with his parents to at least have a fridge. Paisley woke us up all night there wasn’t a good place to get breakfast and paisley got out of the room where we had to chase her in the rain praying she didn’t run to the highway. After that I was DONE. I loaded my bags my dog and my baby and Dane met me in Tomball to pick up the dog and me and Carolina stayed there. It was much better. We got to visit with family, we ate crab legs and salad and a ton of chips and salsa from this little place. We got slushes...and Georgia had a ton of baby stuff to make my stay easier like a swing. Plus we got to stay in Koda and Presley’s room and were comfy clean had help with the baby and I could pump not sitting at a yucky motel desk. Mommin ain’t easy and I had to make the best decision for me and my daughter!
We ended up not getting a DROP of rain. I didn’t need a cat 4 hurricane but I have to say I was a little disappointed there wasn’t even some good thunder lol but we had a great time in Tomball and even stayed an extra day. We were very fortunate to not flood. This has raised the thought of us moving again :( we live in a huge flood zone and now that we have a daughter along with 2 dogs I don’t want to worry, and tear my house apart every time we get a storm.
