"It is finished"
Good Friday Dane went and mowed some lawns and I asked jaelyn to come over and make sugar cookies with us. But first we did a lesson about Good Friday and what it means. It was chaotic and about how you would expect with a 7, 4 and 2 year old but it never hurts to give simple explanations! Childlike faith 💛
First time dying eggs with them! I felt stretched...automatically Dane sat with Carolina and I sat with beau. Wellllll dye and this 2 year old was obviously a full time job and I felt so frazzled trying to enjoy Carolina's first time and his. Beau was just not listening , I should have expected it to be a mess and for eggs to break but I was frustrated! Not so much with the mess just that it was making me miss Carolina's first time, I already felt guilty that we had never done it before! I got short tempered after a while and fussed at beau because he was not listening and spilled a bunch of dye out of one of the cups. He put his head down and I could see how ashamed of himself he was and then I just fell apart and felt ashamed of my own self!
So I apologized to beau and gave him a hug I was honestly speechless because I felt like the whole experience was ruined. Because I also felt like the crying and hollering took away from Carolina's first experience. Wellllll I had put my phone down from taking pictures and Carolina picked it up and took THIS picture! So I cried all over again when I looked through pictures later!
We turned it around overall and I hope they remember the good parts
Carolina liked her half pink half blue egg
Bunny pancakes Saturday morning!
Beau got a happy face
Dane got a bunny butt
Carolina specifically requested a decorated egg with stripes and polka dots and sparkles LOL
My bunny looks like a bat with the pointy ears lol
Super beau was playing in the backyard before breakfast
Beau took his nap on momma and when he woke up we went to Pam's house
Being so cooperative for pics
Egg hunt!
Carolina was good for first pic but I couldn't get beau to sit down. So then she was grumpy
Aunt Katy asked her if her egg could smile and she cooperated
Confetti eggs
Pam gets us big kids Easter baskets too but this year it was bogg bags for the girls filled with treats for the guys
Leaving out veggies for the Easter bunny!
Me and beau read Elmo's Easter surprise
Before you know it, the Easter bunny came!
For the first time ever Carolina came bouncing into our room saying "it's Easter Day it's Easter Day the Easter bunny came!" It THRILLED my heart! She wanted to pick up eggs in the yard but we did baskets and coffee first
Chocolate bunny!!!
Bunny lightening McQueen! He was so excited but my phone froze and missed the pic
Sissy loves ladybugs so her new rainboots were perfect!
Excited that the bunny ate his veggies
Our dyed eggs got wet and were staining our hands...I don't remember their from when I was a kid! Beau didn't like it lol
We got an egg carton and took the dyed eggs to daddy so they didn't stain their baskets
Fish hook Carolina not cooperating for a photo
While we made breakfast they painted their Easter easel sets the Easter bunny brought!
Bunny cinnamon rolls and bacon
I asked both kids if they would like the chance to pray with mommy at the altar at church this morning and Carolina kindly said "no thank you!" but Beau said yes! So we prayed about our relationship and what a good boy I know he is and asked God to help us when we're falling short...we walked back to our seats.
Beau then looks at me and says "mommy! I want to go pray more!" And takes my hand and leads me back to the altar! I asked him what he wanted to pray about this time and he shrugged his shoulders and said "idk!" So I suggested daddy and sissy. We prayed for them.
Beau was absolutely watching all the other people at the altar and trying to mimic their posture and behavior. We've had an amazing Easter weekend but the best part was watching my 2 year old son try to model an open relationship with God! ✝️💛
First time we've spent Easter Sunday with my parents in years! Someone is always sick
Pretty table setup
Cranberry jalapeños dip
Beau was so funny at bedtime! He wouldn't go to sleep and told me "I don't want boobie anymore! Tomorrow you make it spicy!" I laughed my head off and was like yeah okay! And he told me he wanted to sleep on the chair in our room so whatever...well sure enough he went to sleep! Dane put him in bed when he came in
We had a blessed Easter!
Favorite mommy moment: Carolina when I was walking out of her room said "happy Easter Day mommy!" In the sweetest little voice!
