It's a candyland summer!
We went to the library so I could attend a homeschool 101 class...more on that later! But they had a cute setup with crayons!
Carolina was excited about the different shapes she could bite into her cookie
Playing dress up with jaelyn and pretending to wait to be picked up from school by the bus
Best pals! They love doing puzzles together on nanas iPad
Beau made it to his favorite destination the garage lol
Pawpaw gave him a wagon but told him he had to empty the trash out of it
Fun summer snack I told them the cheese was an octopus the apples were crab legs and the walnuts were turtle backs...they liked it
Beau being precious as ever working on his "4 wheeler"
Christmas in July with my girlfriend! I laughed so hard and had a blast. It was an event at my church. We played white elephant and Brianna and I schemed to lock in our gifts we wanted and succeeded it was evil and awesome lol and most importantly perfectly legal! We teamed up for a "snowball fight" where you catch marshmallows with a cup. We lost the first round with giant ones but came back and won by one point with the small ones! Then we had a hilarious hula hoop contest and I got 3rd place. Like I said- had a blast!
Lots of yummy foods and desserts
The kids had another water night at Pam's with their daddy
Before the event I had a mini counseling session with my pastors wife about homeschooling. She had offered to meet up with me because I was struggling HARD to make a commitment to any decision. I spoke to Carolina's former teacher the day before, unplanned. I had been praying "God make it clear what I should do. Close doors you don't want me to walk through and if I'm trying to climb through the window slam it shut on my fingers"
After that prayer (hours later) I randomly decided to ask Mrs Carrizal's opinion because I love trust and respect her and she knows my kid on a personal teacher level and she is a mama who prays. She didn't just text me back she called me. She said "Mrs. Megan I've been praying you would reach out to me and that God would give me the opportunity to talk to you and have the right words to say." She made it clear she was certain it would regress Carolina's progress if we kept her home this year. OUCH. Door closed window slammmed right? But me being stubborn I didn't want to accept it and decided to still talk to my pastors wife. She is also in education and had the exact same opinion and pointed out that Carolina's special services with the school would
Be lost and they are not easy to get back. We've gone through doctors appointments therapy at home evaluations several ARD meetings and it wasn't easy getting where we are today but I have advocated my butt off and it would almost make the last 2 heads of school "for not" she also from a Godly perspective pointed out it could be God preparing us for a future in homeschooling but not now.
With tears I knew what we had to do but I finally had peace. Still profound sadness because now all the emotions of my baby going to kindergarten are hitting me. But this decision was made with love and prayer and God directed our path. Now my anxiety flipped to school choices, supplies and clothes and shoes.
Beau woke up during a nap and Carolina was asking me for a cookie and he grabbed the blanket and tried to eat it....next he looked at me with big eyes and said "I pooped!! Oh no!" (he had pooped before his nap) and he touched his diaper and said "oh no I didn't" and I reminded him I changed him. He said "yeah you did" "where's Lina?!" Then he just went back to sleep....he is the craziest sleeper
Carolina is amazing at expressing herself through art. She told me she wanted to go here and I thought she meant like her imagination and she said no we walk in we buy stuff! I looked a little closer and saw the yellow sun and I DIED! I said "is this Walmart?" And she said "YES!" Omg okay I need an intervention we go to Walmart too much hahaha but the accuracy kills me
Another magical mess
Sunday 🩷💙
Matching as long as she will let me
She was having the best time with her imagination talking to her toys
I asked them what they thought their stuffed animals would say if they could talk and Beau said "I like ice cream cake!" Carolina's response melted me "I love you" makes perfect sense, Beau always has junk food on his mind and Carolina has loved her animals fiercely since she was a baby, it only makes sense she thinks they would tell her they love her.
