My sweet Carolina. We were watching slideshow pics before bed and she saw a pic of herself around 2 and said "mommy I grow up and I talk!" YES YOU DID BABY!!! She also saw pics of her and beau and let me know they aren't babies anymore.
Daddy is in Louisiana for work all week so just me and the babies
Carolina impressed me writing C for Carolina, D for daddy, B for Beau and M for mommy! With portraits.
She's been asking questions lately, like what's the persons name on tv or what's the persons name who's singing, where do they live, are they my friend, what letter does so and so start with. She's so curious.
I taught her c is for cookie and we sang the c o o k I e song, she came home and spelled cookie!
I'm loving all my snuggly naps with beau. I'm not sure what our summer naps will look like with sister home or even how much longer he will take a nap everyday. So soaking in the quiet moments and how his little body feels in my lap, listening to him breathe.
Building and beau using his level to see if it's okay or not
Carolina broke some noodles to make a road. She also took the velveeta box and put it on 2 cans of chicken on their side and made a car, she's so creative.
She brought me the "m" and said is this your letter?? And she brought me the pic of me and her and said we love and hug and kiss each other
Another day another braid
She really loved this one and has been asking me to take pics of her hair
I found a family portrait on the fridge 💕
She told me at bedtime she loved me and I said I love you more, and she said "aawwwwe! Thanks mommy!"
Beau makes me laugh and smile everyday, it's a blessing.
Most handsome little face. He's so big, but still so small.
Thursday! Daddy comes home today
Beau and I had a playdate with Melanie and Eleanor!
They were being a little out of control at the breakfast cafe so we took them to Barnes and noble so we had plenty of time to discuss all the important things we had to talk about in our life!
Pool fun at nanas
I ran home for an hour and got a call that beau had fever. I didn't know what to do I try not to jump and go to urgent care but Carolina's awards were the next day and it was going to be a holiday weekend and the next day was Friday. So Carolina stayed with Pam and Beau insisted papa go to the Dr with us. He did NOT want to go (Beau not Karl lol) they scared me thinking it was dehydration and telling me all these horrible things to look for. But they only brought up dehydration because I asked about possible sunscreen allergy since this was two incidents close together where he seemed like he had fever after being in the sun. My mom heart told me it wasn't what they were saying and I could feel his fever going up while we were sitting there talking. I insisted they they test him for the usual things and retake his temp. Fever had gone up from 99 to 101. She now believed me that it was a virus. But the tests came back negative and his ears looked good. The only thing we saw were bumps in his mouth (just a couple) when she was looking at his throat. We talked about possible early signs of HFM and we would know the next day because it would spread. Left with no diagnosis and I didn't love that. Dane had gotten back in town and picked up Carolina and I was on my way with beau. He started talking up a storm which made me feel better. This boy is running 101 and trying to convince me and prove to me he can ride a bike. He took medicine went to sleep and the next day we kept him medicated and he powered through like a little champ, I'm so glad because we were NOT missing Carolina's ceremony unless it was a 911 emergency!!!
We had a rough morning. I've been very sleep deprived. I've been telling Carolina for a week she had to wear a special dress this day. But then I wasn't home before she went to bed to pick one out with her. Trying to pick one the morning of didn't fly at all. She is in a phase where she only wants to wear soft knit dresses and t shirts. After much crying and debate I let her wear this outfit she picked out because it was a cute outfit and I wanted her to be happy on her special day.
Then our whole family of 4 had a battle about who's staying home and who's taking Carolina to school and my husband couldn't leave to take Carolina because he had to POOP. Are you joking?! I take care of them solo for a week and she's late to school because you have to poop?! Soooooo we all went to take Carolina when dad left his home away from home.
Doing her heart hand that Mrs Carrizal taught her
Baby brother snuck his way in at the table. He was being a good boy nice and quiet and telling Carolina to "ssh" so I left him there.
"Mom take my picture"
Her faces on stage were cracking me up!
Trying to pose
Ms Turpin has been faithful assistant in class and a familiar face to Carolina all year. This is her last year, and Mrs Carrizal gave her plant because she loves to garden.
Then.....they did leopard of the month which is where they pick a character quality.
Carolina got #8 for finding her voice and inspiring others to find theirs. Who would have thought my baby, my little non verbal act like a puppy girl would get a reward for using her words? So proud of her. She has had amazing teachers for two years, we have PRAYED, and she has worked hard.
We of course brought her a surprise for all her hard work
She did amazing ! She did her songs walked on stage stood still, it was a great experience.
Message from her sweet teacher after!
Friday night Carolina spent lots of time coloring and making art. She is very detailed and creative.
My favorite piece she made. She put eyelashes on herself and the sun. She even drew wind and said it was blowing her hair. She likes to put polka dots on our faces when she draws. She says it's freckles and makeup.
Carolina randomly one time when we got home said her tummy hurt and she needed to throw up. She never did. I told Dane to put the air mattress up. I assumed she was getting sick. Sure enough 1AM she was ready to puke from fever. I got up gave her Motrin and she went back to sleep until 7 when she did start puking. She threw up bile twice when I was decided to give her zofran. She was trying to drink and couldn't keep anything down. I knew it wasn't a stomach bug so I didn't think she needed to be throwing up everything in her tummy. She was good for a few hours after that. It was an interesting night on the air mattress because beau woke up twice and fought with Dane to get to me in the living room. I would get woken up to beau screaming "NO I WANT MY MOMMYYYYYYYY!!!"
We finally got her to eat a pink donut.
Beau is very sweet and caring and Carolina is very tolerant lol
We spent the weekend on the air mattress trying to get better with popsicles and medicine.
Thursday through Monday all run together for me because Dane was off and everyone took turns getting sick except daddy
Pajama day Tuesday! She was in a MOOD.
I was able to get in to the doc. I was so thankful because I needed to be able to volunteer the last two days of school!
Beau fell asleep 5 mins upon arrival.
He was very good at Dr and I rewarded him with a cake pop! We have something called herpangina which sounds worse than it is! It's a variant of HFM but only in your mouth. Goes away on its own.
I have to brag on Beau. He is thoughtful, intuitive, observant, caring and compassionate! I've been resting a lot just from being worn out and then sick. Well Dane took them to Pam's a couple times so I could rest. One time when they got home Beau came straight to my room opened the door and said "hi mommy. You feeling better??" He was genuinely concerned about me. Another time he kept asking to come home when Carolina was still sick because he was concerned about her. When he got home he touched her arm and she had a high fever and he said "mommy Carolina's arm is hot!"
Anytime he sees me crying or upset he asks me what's wrong and is very sweet to try to make me feel better. He is also very funny, one day he wanted to nurse and he said "mommy you feeling sick a little bit? I have boobie that make you feel better okay?!" LOL he also came and checked on me one day and thought I was sleeping so he turned the lights out and touched my face softly. I love him so much.
We started our morning like this after daddy left. She was just fine until time to do hair which is how she usually is.
But by time we got to school she was like this! Nothing some donut holes couldn't fix.
Love this special picture above! The school newly painted paw prints with the 8 character habits they teach and they make you eligible to win leopard of the month! I took Carolina's picture in front of the won she got this month
I was volunteering for water day which got turned into just fun day because there was 70% chance of thunderstorms all day.
Tomorrow is the last day of school! Bittersweet
