We were scheduled to come in to the hospital at 2 to have a c section at 4 which got moved for us to come in at 4 and we didn’t got back until about half passed 7! Walking out the door with my girl before she becomes a big sis!
Attempt at family photo lol
Then tears! Complete wreck over leaving my baby I’ve never been away from her longer than a few hours.
I was so nervous throughout preop especially since everything was taking longer! Thankfully they brought us back to a bed because my bottom was killing me from chairs in waiting room!
Finally a bed to sit on!
Seems as if once I got most preop meds and Iv started things moved quicker. One last BUMP pic. Bye bye bump hello Beau!
Where Beau will be next outta my womb! I spy BLUE paper for baby free prints
My least favorite part. Separating from Dane Michael while they get me set up for surgery in OR.
Love my team and made sure to tell them all how good they are at their job and how much I appreciated each roll they played in my sons bday! Tionna was my nurse in or and through recovery. I got Dr Lee for epidural and his assistant Brett who I loved he kept me from vomiting with all my fancy IV cocktails. And he was very personable and kept me calm while waiting for Dane to come back in. I swear Dr Faro came in and talked to me and she brought Dane in and 5 minutes later she’s like ok dad got your camera ready!! ALREADY?? 7:59, the moment my son was born! He cried immediately unlike Carolina and i had tears when I heard him
He was a loud crier! Which is always a good thing and implies nothing but a healthy newborn
Speaking of healthy….. 8 pounds 9 ounces and 18 inches of pure perfection!
Dr Faro was describing him to me while they did feet print and stats. She said “Megan. You don’t make small kids ever! He has got thighs and biceps!” HA. The scale was a little wonky the first time they laid him down it said 12 pounds and 1 ounce and I was like SHUT UP! They measured twice after that and got his actual birth weight
Finally meeting mama! My first words to him were “hey little buddy!”
First family pic
Daddy was in recovery with him for several minutes while they got me ready to transport into recovery.
When we got to recovery this is the debut pic with his stats we sent to family to let them know he had arrived
I don’t remember taking these pics but it’s pretty funny because I have ones JUST LIKE them with Carolina’s birth.
All of his curly light brown / dark blonde hair!
He was chill all night which I was thankful for because Carolina wanted to be touching all night the night she was born! He has so far been a chill baby but goes from 0-100 when he’s mad…lungs aren’t a problem! My beloved iced coffee I was wanting so bad!!
Little mister waiting to get his bath
He HATED the bath but seemed to really love having his hair washed
Looking so handsome! He looks like a boy baby
He is such a beautiful baby boy!
I am still shocked by how much hair he has and how light colored it is!
Wide awake!
Mister man was up a lot our second night. He kept dirtying his diaper and wanting to eat. Finally got him cleaned up and all swaddled with a paci and he slept awhile but kept losing paci! I put the boppy on my bed and he laid on the middle of it all swaddled and finally slept awhile. And the alarm for who knows what was going off for 15 minutes in the middle of the night! So disruptive lol Sunday June 12th in the AM they came and got him for his circumcision made me a little sad and worried about him but we felt it was necessary! & much better to do it now than later. They said he was a little champ and gave us all the little boy cleaning instructions! While he was having that done Dr Faro came to remove my padding and see how my incision looked. She said it looks great and they rolled in my little muscle man while she was still here and she just kept looking at him and telling me how I was gonna have biceps to match his by carrying him! Haha. I found this little card in his bassinet and noticed the weight looks like it says 8lb 16oz…which would just be 9 pounds lol I’m gonna have to get some clarification now!
Sissy on the left Bubs on the right! They have sibling similarities but also look different!
Mamas boy
Dad took a turn in the bed. Ha I didn’t think it was great I’d rather sit my tailbone was hurting and it is awful to get in and out of with an abdominal wound so he can have it!
Time to go home!!! We were ready and scared because we didn’t know how we were gonna deal with Carolina.
We came home to our yard decked out by my mother in law
Dane got me and Beau inside and I could hardly wait for him to bring me my baby girl! But he went to get her and I think she was in such distress the three days we were gone but it didn’t hit her until she saw us. It didn’t really hit me either so I can only imagine my poor almost 2 year olds emotions. It was like sweet relief being in her daddy’s arms she fell asleep. I was a little heartbroken. Okay a lot heart broken especially that I didn’t get to hold her
Then my heart broke even more because she looked at me from across the room started crying and got down and ran to me and went back to sleep
Danes mama just couldn’t stay away she kept showing up with stuff so I finally told Dane to take beau in the kitchen and let her see him. I was like nobody dare wake up Carolina!
Being a momma is so dang hard and motherhood can be weird and confusing and brutal on your heart! She peaked at him just a little
We did not push him on her. Besides…Carolina doesn’t allow anyone to push anything on her anyways! I pray she never loses the fire in her belly. I sat next to her with him and she covered her face…but that’s typical Carolina looking back on it even though at the time it made me very emotional
Things Carolina did enjoy: getting the remote. Sitting alone with mommy. My breast pump. Taking a selfie.
Playing with her big sister gift from mommy daddy and beau
This is about as much as I care to elaborate on our first night home as a family of four HA. I leave you with a picture of little man in mom and dads bed the first time
