Roses Tulips and Tibbetts

Ok so I totally forgot to mention it in my last post. On Friday night our smoke alarm went off! I woke Dane up because I was out of it and honestly not sure what I was hearing. My first thought was I used my hot glue gun the night before and I panicked thinking I didn’t unplug it and it set a fire somehow. But I did unplug it. Our smoke detector does not check for carbon monoxide so it wasn’t that. Dane checked the attic the whole house he went outside nothing was smoking. He said it must have been a fluke and we got Carolina from her crib (she slept through it!) and put her in bed with us just in case because I was freaked out and ready to drive her to my nanas house it was like between midnight and 2 AM when all of this took place.

I am obsessed with sleepy baby faces! She is loving her ball pit! She loves to kick the balls out and she loves crawling in and out of it. It did not take her long to figure out how! We spent the day doing party clean up and waiting on the bounce house company to come pick up the bounce house. I wrote thank you cards for party guests while she was napping. When she woke up I went in her room and started unpack-aging her new stuff. She enjoyed playing with her new baby doll from nana and shopping cart from Shelby!

She’s been acting like she’s ready to walk. Three times today she put one foot forward and stopped

She always comes up behind me if I’m on the floor and pulls up on my back and plays with my clothes or hair

Then we got dressed to go to my moms house to see everyone and I gave her her first set of PIGGIES! She also loves her little Winnie the Pooh hand puppets from Allie and Hayden.

I love these little bee barrettes my aunt made for my cousin Hyatt when she was little! I was happy she is in town to see her wear them 10 years later.

We hung out and mawmaw brought home some delicious crawfish pie!! I’ve never had it, only sang about it lol “son of a gun we’ll have great fun on the bayou” she enjoyed playing and getting into stuff, especially when nana let her dunk her hands in her water cup!

I asked her if she was ready to go home and see dada….”NO” hahaha my mom was able to get her to do it again so I could get it on video

She was happy to see daddy tho! She didn’t want him to set her down. So we fed her dinner with him standing up in the kitchen holding her HA. And I was hysterical because Dane has a really bad gag reflex to smells and textures and I was feeding her roasted chicken and veggies baby food which she loves but I could tell he was grossed out he was breathing all heavy and staring at the ceiling! It was honestly so funny to me. Carolina started laughing too. I took her piggies out when she fell asleep and her hair stayed lol

We had a rough night. She woke up a bunch and I went on strike and refused to nurse her after three times super close together! I can’t sleep while nursing I know some moms can but I can’t actually fall asleep. So she was hysterical and I had to actually turn the lamp on and stand and sway with her in front of our tower fan to calm her down. She was eventually soothed but I had to slowly get back in bed and keep her on top of me for like an hour before I could lay her down and go back to sleep. In retrospect I should have just nursed her but she has got to stop depending on the DQ every time she needs soothed in the middle of the night because I am not a human pacifier. Dane left for work early and I started hearing this chirp.. it was her baby monitor dying and I didn’t want to get out of bed to go turn it off in fear it would wake up the ticking time bomb! So it eventually just died. Carolina slept until TEN AM!! I woke up at 9:30 and just laid there on my phone. She was making up for lost time.

She had a good time playing with nana and aunty chynaynay! Uncle pawpaw and aunt Chylon are redoing the floors so they were busy but we got to visit some and check on their progress! Here’s after ripping up the carpet!

Pretty much done decorating my kitchen now! I know I change stuff all the time but I finally found the style I’m happy with! I’m sure I will still change small things but I’m in love with the black and white and woods / iron. I only have small blue accents.

This little stand is from my wedding and I used to display a little material votive cover from my wedding that was made out of my nanas wedding gown. I decided to move it to the kitchen to display special recipes!

Since daddy was working out of town we were on our own. Brought in trash cans checked the mail fed the dogs. I appreciate all the little things he does for us when he’s not here to do them! Oh my gosh so here’s something that got to me. I was making aunt Chylon a whipped coffee and when I got out the milk the expiration date was Carolinas birthday!! The date on milk jugs always gets to me because that means it’s close. I remember feeling the same way when I was pregnant with her.

We had a rough day, I call this look surviving not thriving

We spent all day together which is normal but literally she was touching me pretty much all day. I wore her to do laundry dishes sweep…and then when I sat down with her and took her out she cried. I was like look girl I’m not doing laps around the house just because lol to be fair our day started out rough with the smoke alarm going off at 6 AM for no reason again!! Oh my gosh I was so irritated. Of course it woke her up so we were up for the day.

And I gave her a little gerber pick up meal for the first time it was chicken noodle with veggies! She seemed to like it but was very interested in touching it

We then opted for a nap in mommy’s bed because her curtain rod fell half way down in her room?!? This is the kind of day we’re having.

Thankfully dada came home because we missed him

I wasn’t feeling good and wanted to take a shower…so I went to the bathroom got in and missed my baby and husband lol so I’m like “babe y’all come in here put her in with me” he comes in stands her in the shower and I take her diaper off and she had pooped! Not gonna lie regretted missing her when she stunk up my shower lol

Then of course he goes to change the water filter in the fridge and it breaks. Uhhhh we just need to go to bed before anything else happens.

But a year ago today I was 37 weeks pregnant and she was weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces all squished in my belly

Thursday we went to Britts house in spring to visit with the Ramirez family and aunt Chylon before they go back to NM. It was a good day just a long one with a baby! By time we got back to our side of town she was over it!

Scarlett is obsessed with Carolina June. She always calls her by both names and says things like “awweeee I just love her!!” And “oooohhh she’s just so chunky!!”

She was so sleepy she fell asleep in my lap sitting up while we were eating lunch! We had sandwiches pasta salad and yummy salsa with avocados in it. She slept for a little bit until angus woke her up barking…

but that’s okay she loves angy!!!

So this happened….

You can’t tell in the video but Carolina June took 3 tiny baby steps!! I was in awe watching her and didn’t get my camera in time. June 10, 2021! 11 months old.

Before we left that morning when I was making my coffee Carolina was crawling in the kitchen and somehow slipped and fell forward and hit her chin on the tile! She has a bruise under her chin.

She looks so much like a Tibbetts here! She looks a lot like Danes sister Denee and his dad

Friday morning: WOMP WOMP

Carolina June was happy when she woke up and then she was all of the sudden feeling feverish and very whiney. I took her temp and it was 100.2

My poor sick baby. I gave her Motrin and within 20 minutes her temp was back down to 99.5.

She was so pitiful she slept over 2 hours! I called her pedi because I was thinking she may have ear infection and it’s almost the weekend…the wouldn’t work her in! UGH. They see sick kids in afternoon and well kids in the morning. And the afternoon was booked. She said there was a couple openings in the morning and she would see if they would bring her in. Well nope they didn’t want to. They told me take her to urgent care if she got worse uhm ok thanks for NOTHING. So I got her in somewhere else for an appt at 2:30. She was a little better after her nap but still not herself. I needed a shower and leaving her to entertain herself was not an option so she came with. I just let her do whatever she wanted to make her happy

Nana came with us and I’m so glad she did! We pull up to the new pedi after me calling her insurance to approve the visit, I fill out the forms I did the registration online they got copies of my ID. They make you sit in the car and wait because of COVID. So after all the paperwork they come out with a COVID test for my 11 month old! I LOST MY MIND. I handed back the clipboard took my forms and said no I’m not doing that to her! We will just leave. I told them they wasted my time and should have said something about this prior. I am NOT traumatizing my child with a invasive nose swab for what I think is teething and an ear infection and a low grade fever!! She said she would talk to the dr and see what they said. After about 15 minutes the nurse practitioner came out and apologized and said in the future if they thought necessary I would have to get the test if I wanted them to see her but based on her symptoms today we could skip it. Ok thanks!

Carolina June weighed 25.2 pounds! And she indeed had an ear infection! Her temp was 98.3 while we were there. So they called in antibiotics which she has never been sick or taken any before! So we left took a couple detours and got a couple root beers and confused on the way home lol I dropped nana off and went through Walgreens to get her prescription. She was getting very fussy in the backseat and when we got home she just looked pitiful. It had been 7 hours since she had medicine I think it was wearing off. As soon as we walked in I gave her Motrin. She was fussing and I knew she was in pain. She got really upset so I just put the syringe in her cheek leaned her back and shot it in. I have to do it this way sometimes because she just clinches her mouth shut! I walked to get a drink carrying her and got back to the entryway and VOMIT! She threw up all over herself and me and the floor. It was not just the medicine it was her last meal. So I tried calming her and just carried her to the shower and got us both undressed and I sat in the shower and she wanted to nurse but I didn’t think she could if she was just going to throw up more. Thankfully she was so tired and fell asleep fast because she just didn’t feel good enough to protest. While she slept I cuddled her in my lap and washed my hair and softly washed the vomit off of us without waking her lol

Her temp went back up but I called pedi and they said she could have more but unless she was in pain they don’t give meds unless you get above 102! Ok good to know in case she wakes up screaming in pain. She woke up happy as a clam just 15 minutes later!

Thankful for my perfect baby who is playing well even though I know she feels lousy!

I mixed her antibiotic with baby food and that went much better. She slept ok but very restless and whimpering on and off in her sleep! Saturday morning papa brought me creamer for my coffee thank the lord! She was playing pretty good and happy crawling around the bed and in the kitchen. But she’s still very fussy and getting her to take her antibiotic this morning took much more persuasion than yesterday! We talked to mawmaw and she asked why this baby was wearing a tutu this early and we told her it was never to early for tutus!

We ventured out to distract her and went to a garage sale and to Danes moms. Her cousins came to play

And they gave her her bday present since they couldn’t make her party!

She got the cutest books!! I love all the holiday ones

And omg it was so funny! A few weeks ago I saw an add for some really stinking cute loungewear it’s was pigs in tutus! I sent it to my BFF and told her we needed it but I never did buy it. KATY GOT HER THE SAME LOUNGEWEAR!! I thought that was so funny!

Carolina just couldn’t let herself go to sleep so we had to go home and take a nap. I told everyone we would come back over if they were still hanging out when she woke up.

Soooo she slept, she woke up, I text them and told them we would head back over and then…..

Guess she wasn’t ready to wake up! Bless her heart I’m glad she got a good nap because she has been so restless and just not feeling good. But she eventually woke up and we wrestled her to give her her medicine! And then we headed back! Playing with cousin Eva!

When we got home she was desperate to crawl into this basket!

She is so smart, I read her one of her new books in bed and it has the peekaboo flaps. She opened the book back up when I was done and remembered and was trying to open the flaps! And they’re kinda hard to do because it’s a new book so they’re tight still!
