Good food! There were hotdogs for the kids and chips. There was pulled pork sliders made by uncle pawpaw and mawmaw, he also made twice baked potatoes! We had baked beans, my mom also got sausage and boudin from someone she works with. I made spicy corn dip, Danes mom brought cole slaw and 7 layer taco dip.

Carolina was being so silly before her party and singing. I was praying she would get a good nap. After I prayed she was very sleepy and I laid her down half awake. She almost sat up and then instead fell down into a froggy position and took a great nap! Thank you Jesus because then I could start cooking sausage and boudin and beans. Thankfully I got ready and the Gilpin’s got here and Morgan made the hotdogs while I did other stuff.

Carolina did okay. She was really taken back when people started showing up she had not been awake that long. She had a couple meltdowns and once I had to take her through a quick drive thru at Dairy Queen to get her to stop crying.

Presents! Carolina June got lots of nice things and did pretty good staying focused and helping! I was impressed.

Cake time, I knew she was going to cry when I put her in the high chair and she did lol she had no interest in cake!

My biggest regret is I SWEAR I took a picture of my nana with Carolina June but it’s not on my phone and I don’t know who else’s phone it would have been! Thankfully my cousin took some family pictures with nana so I will have some later from her camera! This is the only picture I’ve found with nana in it- I don’t know where she was the whole time lol I don’t even know where I was

We were happy the rain held off during the party even though it rained so much before that it was pretty damp outside and tracked in a ton of dirt…I’m very glad it was not her actual birthday because I never sat down. As much as I love all of our family and friends next year and years to come we will be doing a small grandparents only gathering! It’s much more special that way and not so much work goes into it where you can’t enjoy the party anyways! I am happy we were able to create these memories and pictures for Carolina June and I wanted to celebrate her first birthday with everyone who was apart of our journey to getting pregnant and her first year of life. Now I am going to TRULY soak in the 12 days I have left of her being my 11 month old…..sink bath and bumble bee towel! Night night
